|Annual House Tour|
Mt. Tabor, New Jersey, an historic Victorian Camp Meeting community, showcases over 15
Victorian cottages and historic buildings on a self-guided tour. It becomes
your opportunity to look inside these gingerbread "dollhouses"! Box
lunches will be available for sale.
Visitors will be able to experience the unique charms of this historic Victorian Camp Meeting community during the Mount Tabor Historical Society's 21st annual historic House Tour on Saturday, September 27, 2014. This event provides the best opportunity to get an inside look at the Victorian cottages, community buildings and sites that will be open to the public during that day.
Special events include a display of heritage quilts as well as an art show.
During the House Tour, visitors can tour the Richardson History House, a camp meeting cottage museum. Docents will explain the restoration that is in progress thanks to a construction grant from the Morris County Historic Trust for required structural work. Don't miss seeing this historic gem, as the interior is remarkably unchanged from the camp meeting days.
Also on view will be a reproduction of a camp meeting tent.
Take this opportunity to step back in time and experience how the founders of Mount Tabor would have lived in this summer wooded retreat.
